My wife and I booked a last minute tour of Montmarte with Cedric and had a wonderful time. He is very knowledgeable and taught us a lot, which he balanced with a great sense of humor and levity. We saw a part of the city that we never would have seen on our own and it’s one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll be getting in touch with Cedric again next time we’re in town. Not a single big reveal that makes it special, but small pieces of history and storytelling that made the experience so relatable and unforgettable. My husband & I booked the Belleville tour hoping to get a feel for everyday Paris, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Cédric met us at a hotel/cafe on the edge of Belleville, and from the start it felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friend who knows the city inside and out. After espressos (and ginger beer), we began our journey wandering residential neighbourhoods, winding streets with filled with street art, a "secret garden", and all sorts of hidden gems. Cédric’s stories tied everything together. We learned about Belleville's working-class roots, its urban planning and history, its immigrant influences, and the creative energy that keeps it evolving. The route felt both meandering and perfectly paced, full of surprises but never rushed! Even the rain couldn't dampen the vibes!! If you're thinking of booking this tour... this is your sign to do it!

If you want to experience Paris like a local, I highly recommend that you book a private tour with Cédric at Paris B-sides. He showed us a side of Montmartre that most tourists do not get to see. Our tour with Cédric was the highlight of our trip to Paris. Not only did we see a lot and learn a lot but we got to hang out with Cédric who is a delightful person. His tours are also reasonably priced. Much better prices than other tour operators. I can’t wait to book another tour with him on a future trip to Paris.

My family and I had an incredible tour with Cedric! He is an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and considerate guide. The tour was a delightful departure from the usual. He led us expertly up to Sacré Couer from the back of the church, as opposed to approaching from the more touristed side, sharing fascinating stories of Montmartre as we went. He kept his conversation interactive and continually responded to the interest and needs of my family, including engaging my 10-year-old. We threw an extra challenge at Cedric when our 70-something-year- old mothers needed to take a break during the walk. He kindly found us first a lovely cafe where we shared breakfast and then another cafe for our mothers to sit on while we continued up the hill. He was totally unfazed and kind, and could not have been more helpful. We chose to have lunch with him and he took us to an absolutely lovely, well priced and delicious cafe. I asked a question at the end of the tour and he remembered and sent me additional information on the topic later. Cannot recommend me enough!!

My husband and I enjoyed one of the most interesting and fun tours of our lives yesterday with Cédric. He is extremely knowledgeable of history and also gives many rich cultural insights. He kindly and patiently spoke French to us for the entire tour. We will definitely book future tours with Cédric next time we come to Paris and recommend his services unreservedly.

We had an amazing time with Cedric. He does an excellent job of bringing the city to life. He also is so friendly, considerate, and was able to think on his feet which was needed considering we ran into the Tour De France the day of our tour! However, that time with him became one of the best parts of our entire trip. If we ever come back to Paris, we are 100% going to book another tour with him. I had such a great experience on Cédric’s Covered Passages tour. Even though I’ve been to Paris a few times, I would have never discovered these somewhat hidden walkways without his guidance. The tour was super relaxed but packed with fascinating details, not just about the history of the passages, but also about how Paris evolved over the years and how its borders shifted to become the city we know today.Cédric is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to chat with. I had the privilege to join Cédric on a tour of Petit Montrouge. My B-Sides tour was a major highlight of my Paris trip!The tour was filled with information about the history of both the neighborhood and Paris itself that simply cannot be found in any online article or textbook. Everything from architecture, local history, and daily life was filled through the whole journey. I got to see parts of Paris that 99% of tourists will unfortunately never get to see.Cédric was incredibly friendly, informative, and interested about the story of myself and the other folks on the tour. Both his English and his French are incredible, so you will have no problem fully enjoying the tour in whatever language is best for you.I *highly* recommend B-Sides to anyone who gets the opportunity to visit Paris!

Because I visit Paris often, I was looking for something a little different and found it in Paris B-Sides, devoted to walking tours of undervisited/underappreciated bits of Paris. Cédric suggested a tour of Belleville (tour #7 on his website) because my visit coincided with Open House Days for some of the artists’ ateliers in the neighborhood.This tour was really one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever done in Paris. We met at a café first and talked about the history of the neighborhood (and Paris in general). I learned a ton in just the first hour! After that we began wandering the neighborhood and going into some of the workshops that are normally not open to the public. This was pretty amazing - definitely the highlight of my trip. Cédric is super friendly and chatty and all the artists were quite keen to talk; several of them even gave us suggestions as to what other studios to visit. And I saw where Edith Piaf was born! We ended the tour with a drink overlooking the Parc de Belleville.I had a really great time and Cédric was kind enough to email me with ideas for other places he thought that I might enjoy in Paris. If you’re looking to spend time exploring a different side of Paris with someone who loves the city and its history, I would 100% recommend checking out his tours.

I booked a tour with Cédric based on the few reviews I read through other sources (i.e. Reddit). Whenever I travel, I love going on more unconventional tours to get a glimpse of what the life of locals is like. This tour met all my expectations. Cédric showed parts of the city I would have never thought of visiting, and it was a nice break from the crowds of the main attractions. I was looking for a unique Paris tour when I found Paris B-sides on Reddit. This was just what I wanted! Touring with Cedric was informative and relaxed. I really appreciated the agenda, we toured parts of Paris that I had never visited on previous holidays. I booked the covered passages tour, but we saw many other things in addition to the passages. I think that my favorite was the library, I was blown away by it! The parks were lovely and so we're the shops.

Having visited Paris once before, and having learned a bit of French since, I was excited to spend time seeing a different side of Paris. I found Cedric through his engaging and detailed commentary on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/user/coffeechap/) - what a character!My asks: 1) Show me a real version of Paris (my name isn't Emily) 2) Suffer through my broken French for the duration of the tour and 3) Let's have some yummy baked goods... because Paris!How do I put it? Cedric knocked it out of the park! He tailored the tour to cover the 17-20 arrondissement, showing me the less visited parks of town, the perma-culture installations, and the old railroad tracks being repurposed by the city. He was graceful and courteous in engaging my non-nonsensical questions about life in Paris, personal topics of interest, and sharing tidbits of the history that made me feel a deeper connection to the city.It is without hesitation that I would recommend Cedric and Paris B-sides for a guide to the city. Cédric is an excellent guide. Very friendly, and immensely generous with sharing his knowledge of Paris, particularly the lesser travelled spots. It was such a pleasant and relaxing experience. I greatly appreciate the thought and care behind the experience and his overall attention to detail throughout the walk. We had a fabulous meander through Belleville, Cedric is very knowledgeable about the less well known aspects of Paris and we came away with a much better understanding of the sociological history of the area as well as showing us many hidden gems. He also gave us some good insiders tips for the rest of our stay. We will be back!
