EXCELLENT Based on 31 reviews Posted on Shannon KaussenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was fortunate to spend two months in Paris last fall and did five of Cédric's tours (in order: the Passages, Buttes aux Cailles, North Petite Ceinture, Arts & Crafts tour & Aligre/Coulée Verte). I did the Passages first on my own and so enjoyed it, that I ended up booking four more in the subsequent weeks of my stay, bringing along my daughter (who just moved to Paris), and, for Buttes aux Cailles, my son & a friend. I can attest to the fact that the younger generation (my guests are all in their early to mid 20's) found wandering with Cédric as educational, insightful & fun (even in the rain) as I did. This was my sixth visit to Paris and my lengthiest stay, so I really wanted to explore "the b-sides" in depth. Thus, Cédric's emphasis on areas oft overlooked by tourists made him the perfect guide. Each tour had surprises built in, even in areas more familiar to me plus, as other reviewers have noted, Cédric is a wealth of information on all things Paris, but, in particular, the history of the city, its architecture and how it has developed into its modern form (as well as current and ongoing redevelopment). One of the most memorable aspects of my tours with Cédric is the conversations we had with various Parisians along the way: an 89 year old artist, still working in her studio in one of the Passages; a woman working in the current incarnation of the Gobelins textile factory; crafts people & visiting artists on fellowship in Romainville; a man standing outside an apartment building in the 12th arr who had an interesting story about a former resident..people we most likely wouldn't have met were it not for Cédric, who is very personable, engaging & witty. In sum, Cédric's tours were the highlight of my stay in Paris and really deepened my knowledge and appreciation of my favorite city. I'm returning to Paris in May 2026 with extended family and greatly looking forward to taking them on a tour (or two or three) with Cédric!Posted on Steve StrockTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I booked a last minute tour of Montmarte with Cedric and had a wonderful time. He is very knowledgeable and taught us a lot, which he balanced with a great sense of humor and levity. We saw a part of the city that we never would have seen on our own and it’s one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll be getting in touch with Cedric again next time we’re in town. B-side is simply the better side. ❤️ First time visiting Paris, I was quite overwhelmed by everything, even coming from another big city. Many cool attractions can distract us from the interesting details. Cédric truly delivered a tour that helped me learn about this city. I took a tour with my spouse in the 20th arrondissement, which isn't a common suggestion for tourists. It was really fun and left us with the deepest impression of this city!Posted on Stefanie FioreTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our Belleville tour with Paris B-Sides was the highlight of our time in Paris. We loved exploring the neighbourhood’s bustling streets, public art, gardens, and hidden gems while learning how its history shaped the city. Cédric made the experience unforgettable with his warmth, humour, and deep knowledge, expertly dodging the rain and always ready with another engaging story/insight. We would absolutely book another tour on our next trip!Posted on Lauren LongTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I had a wonderful custom private tour with Cedric, who we discovered on Reddit. Despite booking last-minute, he was able to customize a tour that took into account some tricky timing and location constraints. We toured a quaint area of the Latin Quarter I didn't even know existed, the opposite of the tourist traps and crowds associated with the area. We learned a lot and enjoyed Cedric's laid back vibe. Great experience and value.Posted on Mary LiskoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My husband and I booked a semi-private tour of the Covered Passages with Cédric initially for Sept 18; due to the strike, we switched it to the 28th. This was a highlight of our trip; we had an absolute blast! Although a semi-private tour, it was only the two of us, so it turned a private tour that lasted almost 3.5 hours (not our doing, we only made one unscheduled pause for a coffee). We meandered our way through the passages, took detours, popped into shops, and learned about the history of the CPs. Our “surprise visit to a historical building” was utterly fantastic and gorgeous! Cédric is very knowledgeable, personable, has a great sense of humor (towers being not round for example), and had wonderful suggestions for where to go later in our trip for hot chocolate (cafe pavane for the win, btw). I very highly recommend booking any of his tours!!Posted on Cynthia R. MendozaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you want to experience Paris like a local, I highly recommend that you book a private tour with Cédric at Paris B-sides. He showed us a side of Montmartre that most tourists do not get to see. Our tour with Cédric was the highlight of our trip to Paris. Not only did we see a lot and learn a lot but we got to hang out with Cédric who is a delightful person. His tours are also reasonably priced. Much better prices than other tour operators. I can’t wait to book another tour with him on a future trip to Paris.Posted on Marci BrenholzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My family and I had an incredible tour with Cedric! He is an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and considerate guide. The tour was a delightful departure from the usual. He led us expertly up to Sacré Couer from the back of the church, as opposed to approaching from the more touristed side, sharing fascinating stories of Montmartre as we went. He kept his conversation interactive and continually responded to the interest and needs of my family, including engaging my 10-year-old. We threw an extra challenge at Cedric when our 70-something-year- old mothers needed to take a break during the walk. He kindly found us first a lovely cafe where we shared breakfast and then another cafe for our mothers to sit on while we continued up the hill. He was totally unfazed and kind, and could not have been more helpful. We chose to have lunch with him and he took us to an absolutely lovely, well priced and delicious cafe. I asked a question at the end of the tour and he remembered and sent me additional information on the topic later. Cannot recommend me enough!!Posted on Natasha MuslihTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As a travel planner and trip host, I am always on the lookout for great guides who can offer something a little different from the usual tours, so I am very happy to have found Cedric. I recently hosted a small group tour of Paris for travellers who have already visited the city several times. Cedric guided my group through the covered passages of Paris, and shared facts and tidbits some of our even hard-core francophiles didn't know. He is knowledgeable and engaging; someone who knows his stuff and loves to share it.Posted on Evžen WybitulTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have to second the other reviews. Cédric was a great, helpful, and knowledgeable guide. Most importantly, he was genuinely nice to spend the 4-ish hours with!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. By Rondie October 12, 2025Reviewed Tour #07 The Spirited Belleville & MénilmontantB-side should be a franchise to all cities... or perhaps every city needs a Cédric? After months of planning and learning about Paris A-side, my wife and I were actually more excited about the B-side, you know, the cool stuff that you can't just learn on the internet? Or something typically money can't buy, but now you sort of can?Cédric exceeded our expectations! This was such a personal, unique experience that's hard to capture in words. Not a single big reveal that makes it special, but small pieces of history and storytelling that made the experience so relatable and unforgettable. Everything was unscripted and organic, just like talking with a friend who genuinely loves sharing their city.5 stars is an understatement, I'd rate this experience priceless.Date of Experience: September 03, 2025 -

By Stefanie October 11, 2025Reviewed Tour #07 The Spirited Belleville & MénilmontantFor curious, thoughtful travellers! My husband & I booked the Belleville tour hoping to get a feel for everyday Paris, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Cédric met us at a hotel/cafe on the edge of Belleville, and from the start it felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friend who knows the city inside and out. After espressos (and ginger beer), we began our journey wandering residential neighbourhoods, winding streets with filled with street art, a "secret garden", and all sorts of hidden gems. Cédric’s stories tied everything together. We learned about Belleville's working-class roots, its urban planning and history, its immigrant influences, and the creative energy that keeps it evolving. The route felt both meandering and perfectly paced, full of surprises but never rushed! Even the rain couldn't dampen the vibes!! If you're thinking of booking this tour... this is your sign to do it! -

By David Leidlein August 5, 2025Reviewed Tour #12 The Hidden Montmartre, an Artistic AtmosphereFamily of Four - fantastic experience with Cedric! We had an amazing time with Cedric. He does an excellent job of bringing the city to life. He also is so friendly, considerate, and was able to think on his feet which was needed considering we ran into the Tour De France the day of our tour! However, that time with him became one of the best parts of our entire trip. If we ever come back to Paris, we are 100% going to book another tour with him. Thanks for the great time and amazing memories.Date of Experience: July 27, 2025 -

By Danielle August 2, 2025Reviewed Tour #02 The Covered Passages (private)This tour was the highlight of my tripI had such a great experience on Cédric’s Covered Passages tour. Even though I’ve been to Paris a few times, I would have never discovered these somewhat hidden walkways without his guidance. The tour was super relaxed but packed with fascinating details, not just about the history of the passages, but also about how Paris evolved over the years and how its borders shifted to become the city we know today.Cédric is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to chat with. We had a great dinner and conversation afterward. If you want to see a side of Paris most visitors miss, I highly recommend this tour!Date of Experience: July 28, 2025 -

By Ravi July 3, 2025Reviewed Tour #491 Le Petit Montrouge (semi-private)Highlight of my Paris TripI had the privilege to join Cédric on a tour of Petit Montrouge. My B-Sides tour was a major highlight of my Paris trip! The tour was filled with information about the history of both the neighborhood and Paris itself that simply cannot be found in any online article or textbook. Everything from architecture, local history, and daily life was filled through the whole journey. I got to see parts of Paris that 99% of tourists will unfortunately never get to see.Cédric was incredibly friendly, informative, and interested about the story of myself and the other folks on the tour. Both his English and his French are incredible, so you will have no problem fully enjoying the tour in whatever language is best for you.I *highly* recommend B-Sides to anyone who gets the opportunity to visit Paris!Date of Experience: June 25, 2025 -

By Jill Gage June 5, 2025Reviewed Tour #07 The Spirited Belleville & MénilmontantAn amazing afternoon of art and Parisian historyBecause I visit Paris often, I was looking for something a little different and found it in Paris B-Sides, devoted to walking tours of undervisited/underappreciated bits of Paris. Cédric suggested a tour of Belleville (tour #7 on his website) because my visit coincided with Open House Days for some of the artists’ ateliers in the neighborhood. This tour was really one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever done in Paris. We met at a café first and talked about the history of the neighborhood (and Paris in general). I learned a ton in just the first hour! After that we began wandering the neighborhood and going into some of the workshops that are normally not open to the public. This was pretty amazing - definitely the highlight of my trip. Cédric is super friendly and chatty and all the artists were quite keen to talk; several of them even gave us suggestions as to what other studios to visit. And I saw where Edith Piaf was born! We ended the tour with a drink overlooking the Parc de Belleville.I had a really great time and Cédric was kind enough to email me with ideas for other places he thought that I might enjoy in Paris. If you’re looking to spend time exploring a different side of Paris with someone who loves the city and its history, I would 100% recommend checking out his tours.Date of Experience: May 16, 2025 -

By Brooke May 31, 2025Reviewed Tour #09 South Petite CeintureWonderful Way to Spend an Afternoon in ParisMy Paris B-Sides tour was a highlight of my trip in Paris. It was so much more than just sightseeing — it was an authentic look at how people really live in the city, far from the typical tourist destinations. Cedric was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge. He didn’t just point things out but offered deeper context behind what we were seeing, connecting history, culture, and everyday life. We made spontaneous stops to chat with locals, soak up the peaceful atmosphere, and enjoy little cultural moments that made the tour feel so personal and unique. The story of the Petite Ceinture, was something I never would have discovered on my own. Thanks to Cedric's passion and insight, I left feeling like I’d experienced a hidden part of the city.Highly, highly recommend a tour with Cedric for anyone who wants a more meaningful connection to Paris!Date of Experience: May 26, 2025 -

By DY May 25, 2025Reviewed Tour #41 The Coulée Verte & Aligre Market (semi-private)A different perspective of ParisI booked a tour with Cédric based on the few reviews I read through other sources (i.e. Reddit). Whenever I travel, I love going on more unconventional tours to get a glimpse of what the life of locals is like. This tour met all my expectations. Cédric showed parts of the city I would have never thought of visiting, and it was a nice break from the crowds of the main attractions. He was extremely nice, engaged, and I learned so much on the tour. The tour is also such a reasonable price. Merci beaucoup! -

Touring with Cedric was informative and relaxed. I really appreciated the agenda, we toured parts of Paris that I had never visited on previous holidays. I booked the covered passages tour, but we saw many other things in addition to the passages. I think that my favorite was the library, I was blown away by it! By Houtsin Diep May 13, 2025Reviewed Tour #00 Paris à la CarteLocal railway parties and delicious pastries? Yes please!Having visited Paris once before, and having learned a bit of French since, I was excited to spend time seeing a different side of Paris. I found Cedric through his engaging and detailed commentary on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/user/coffeechap/) - what a character! My asks: 1) Show me a real version of Paris (my name isn't Emily) 2) Suffer through my broken French for the duration of the tour and 3) Let's have some yummy baked goods... because Paris! How do I put it? Cedric knocked it out of the park! He tailored the tour to cover the 17-20 arrondissement, showing me the less visited parks of town, the perma-culture installations, and the old railroad tracks being repurposed by the city. He was graceful and courteous in engaging my non-nonsensical questions about life in Paris, personal topics of interest, and sharing tidbits of the history that made me feel a deeper connection to the city.It is without hesitation that I would recommend Cedric and Paris B-sides for a guide to the city. The knowledge, piece-of-mind, and his company will make your trip a blast!Oh! And he definitely found some delicious baked goods!Date of Experience: April 26, 2025 -
