My boyfriend and I did a private tour of Montmartre with Cédric and it was truly the highlight of our time in Paris! Cédric has so much knowledge about the city, and really gives a lot of great stories that a standard guide would skip. We spent a majority of our time wandering through the little quiet streets of the Montmartre neighborhood, with only a small portion of the tour being spent in the main touristy areas. He even spent extra time with us at the end of the tour to make sure we saw absolutely everything he wanted to show us! I also appreciated that he sent us an email with additional places for us to visit during our trip. I would highly recommend booking a private tour with Cédric for your next trip to Paris to get a more authentic experience!!

This was one of the favorite things we did while we were in Paris! We found Cedric to be one of the most passionate, kind, and creative people we have ever met! He really arranged a good day for us. Due to a recent injury, I had to take things slowly, and he was very accommodating. We "lived like a local" for the day and had a ball. We went for coffee, visited a few local park hangouts, went to lunch, found a bakery for a nice treat, and learned a lot about Paris. We felt safe. Cedric was a great communicator, so everything went very smoothly. We paid for his lunch because we personally think he does not know what he is worth. In other words, you are getting a great deal, so please be kind and treat him along the way. If you want to get away from the craziness of the tourist traps and really see Paris with different eyes, we highly recommend this company.

Great tour with Cedric! Fun & interesting! He toured us around the covered passages in Paris which was something I never knew about. The tour was officially 3 hours but we were a bit pressed on time and he was super flexible and worked with our schedule. I highly recommend a tour with Cedric!

I booked two tours with Paris B-Sides: Butte aux Cailles and The Covered Passages. During both tours, Cédric was a wealth of information across a wide array of topics. Parisian folk history, spatial anthropology, the social development of Paris, etc etc. Essentially, if you want to know how Paris came to be, I'd highly recommend Paris B-sides. Cédric himself was warm and engaging, and offered many helpful suggestions for the remainder of my trip. Both tours were highlights of my trip.

I was fortunate to spend two months in Paris last fall and did five of Cédric's tours (in order: the Passages, Buttes aux Cailles, North Petite Ceinture, Arts & Crafts tour & Aligre/Coulée Verte). I did the Passages first on my own and so enjoyed it, that I ended up booking four more in the subsequent weeks of my stay, bringing along my daughter (who just moved to Paris), and, for Buttes aux Cailles, my son & a friend. I can attest to the fact that the younger generation (my guests are all in their early to mid 20's) found wandering with Cédric as educational, insightful & fun (even in the rain) as I did. This was my sixth visit to Paris and my lengthiest stay, so I really wanted to explore "the b-sides" in depth. Thus, Cédric's emphasis on areas oft overlooked by tourists made him the perfect guide. Each tour had surprises built in, even in areas more familiar to me plus, as other reviewers have noted, Cédric is a wealth of information on all things Paris, but, in particular, the history of the city, its architecture and how it has developed into its modern form (as well as current and ongoing redevelopment). One of the most memorable aspects of my tours with Cédric is the conversations we had with various Parisians along the way: an 89 year old artist, still working in her studio in one of the Passages; a woman working in the current incarnation of the Gobelins textile factory; crafts people & visiting artists on fellowship in Romainville; a man standing outside an apartment building in the 12th arr who had an interesting story about a former resident..people we most likely wouldn't have met were it not for Cédric, who is very personable, engaging & witty. In sum, Cédric's tours were the highlight of my stay in Paris and really deepened my knowledge and appreciation of my favorite city. I'm returning to Paris in May 2026 with extended family and greatly looking forward to taking them on a tour (or two or three) with Cédric!

My wife and I booked a last minute tour of Montmarte with Cedric and had a wonderful time. He is very knowledgeable and taught us a lot, which he balanced with a great sense of humor and levity. We saw a part of the city that we never would have seen on our own and it’s one of the highlights of our trip. We’ll be getting in touch with Cedric again next time we’re in town. Highly recommended!

B-side is simply the better side. ❤️ First time visiting Paris, I was quite overwhelmed by everything, even coming from another big city. Many cool attractions can distract us from the interesting details. Cédric truly delivered a tour that helped me learn about this city. I took a tour with my spouse in the 20th arrondissement, which isn't a common suggestion for tourists. It was really fun and left us with the deepest impression of this city!

Our Belleville tour with Paris B-Sides was the highlight of our time in Paris. We loved exploring the neighbourhood’s bustling streets, public art, gardens, and hidden gems while learning how its history shaped the city. Cédric made the experience unforgettable with his warmth, humour, and deep knowledge, expertly dodging the rain and always ready with another engaging story/insight. We would absolutely book another tour on our next trip!

    Incredible Local Tour
My boyfriend and I had an amazing tour with Cedric - he is incredibly knowledgeable, personable and had something to say about almost everything we passed which was great. It felt more like a local showing you around and pointing out things you would’ve missed, than a tour of the well known touristy areas. I would highly recommend Cedric’s tours of any area of Paris - he was a delight!

    A fantastic introduction to Montmartre!
We had an absolutely fantastic time walking around Montmartre with Cedric! We started the journey at a small and delightful coffee shop where we got to know each other a bit; the rest of the day was essentially about insightful storytelling between friends.I loved the history of Montmartre that he provided to us, which has enlightened a lot of my interactions in the neighborhood. There is a *lot* of history that influenced the evolution of attitudes, and so many subtleties make so much more sense now. I loved that the tour has opened my ability to read the neighborhood in a very different way. I highly highly recommend this tour, and look forward to joining Cedric on other adventures soon.

    Fun, Interactive, and Informational!
We had a great time with Cédric on a walking tour of the Latin Quarter! Leading up to the tour he was very responsive over email and helped us choose an appropriate tour that would accommodate my 80+ year old mother and aunt. The day of the tour, Cédric was a little late to our meeting spot, but he made up for it with his enthusiastic stories and historical tales of Paris. We chose the option to have lunch together, and we chose a charming crepe restaurant. It was a pleasure to meet Cédric, and we would happily do another tour with him on our next trip to Paris.

    Delightful!
We had the pleasure of joining Cedric for the South Petite Ceinture tour. It was a lovely way to enjoy nature while never leaving the city. We walked good paths along the abandoned railway, heard the birds singing, descended into a beautiful park to appreciate the gardens, and still had time to visit a flea market, used book market and enjoy a meal. And throughout, we heard stories about the city and its surroundings. We’ll take home good memories. Definitely worth the time and cost.

B-side should be a franchise to all cities... or perhaps every city needs a Cédric?
After months of planning and learning about Paris A-side, my wife and I were actually more excited about the B-side, you know, the cool stuff that you can't just learn on the internet? Or something typically money can't buy, but now you sort of can?Cédric exceeded our expectations! This was such a personal, unique experience that's hard to capture in words. Not a single big reveal that makes it special, but small pieces of history and storytelling that made the experience so relatable and unforgettable. Everything was unscripted and organic, just like talking with a friend who genuinely loves sharing their city.5 stars is an understatement, I'd rate this experience priceless.

    For curious, thoughtful travellers!
My husband & I booked the Belleville tour hoping to get a feel for everyday Paris, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Cédric met us at a hotel/cafe on the edge of Belleville, and from the start it felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friend who knows the city inside and out. After espressos (and ginger beer), we began our journey wandering residential neighbourhoods, winding streets with filled with street art, a "secret garden", and all sorts of hidden gems. Cédric’s stories tied everything together. We learned about Belleville's working-class roots, its urban planning and history, its immigrant influences, and the creative energy that keeps it evolving. The route felt both meandering and perfectly paced, full of surprises but never rushed! Even the rain couldn't dampen the vibes!! If you're thinking of booking this tour... this is your sign to do it!

    See Paris Like a Local
If you want to experience Paris like a local, I highly recommend that you book a private tour with Cédric at Paris B-sides. He showed us a side of Montmartre that most tourists do not get to see. Our tour with Cédric was the highlight of our trip to Paris. Not only did we see a lot and learn a lot but we got to hang out with Cédric who is a delightful person. His tours are also reasonably priced. Much better prices than other tour operators. I can’t wait to book another tour with him on a future trip to Paris.

    Fantastic tour!
My family and I had an incredible tour with Cedric! He is an extremely knowledgeable, friendly and considerate guide. The tour was a delightful departure from the usual. He led us expertly up to Sacré Couer from the back of the church, as opposed to approaching from the more touristed side, sharing fascinating stories of Montmartre as we went. He kept his conversation interactive and continually responded to the interest and needs of my family, including engaging my 10-year-old. We threw an extra challenge at Cedric when our 70-something-year- old mothers needed to take a break during the walk. He kindly found us first a lovely cafe where we shared breakfast and then another cafe for our mothers to sit on while we continued up the hill. He was totally unfazed and kind, and could not have been more helpful. We chose to have lunch with him and he took us to an absolutely lovely, well priced and delicious cafe. I asked a question at the end of the tour and he remembered and sent me additional information on the topic later. Cannot recommend me enough!!
